The programme lasts for 43 weeks (approx 9 months) and includes an initial discovery call (30 mins), 13 group sessions (2hrs) in duration.
At each group session you’ll spend time at the beginning of each session reviewing how things are going for you. Each session will cover a range of topics learning more about making positive lifestyle changes and our pillars (nutrition, movement, sleep, alcohol and mind). There will be an opportunity to ask questions and speak to your group coach or in peer-led small group sessions. There will also be time set aside to have your weight taken this is done discretely and not shared openly with group. There will be a refreshment break, a great time to get to know everyone better, stretch your legs and let the information sink in.
We offer both so you can choose the option that suits you best!
We deliver our face-to-face sessions at a variety of locations, they include community venues, leisure centres and primary care practices. We try to cover as much of the county as possible.
Online specific cohort groups, such as those patients identified as having had gestational diabetes in the past. Will be offered the option of attending a webinar style programme, using the digital platform Zoom. You’ll need an internet connection and access to a laptop, tablet or mobile phone. We run morning, afternoon, or evening groups. Don’t worry if you’re not overly confident using Zoom, we have step-by-step instructions to help you log on and a member of staff will be available to help you over the first few weeks if you need them. This on line offer is different to our digital style programme.
Group sizes can vary from 15-20 people. To get the most out of our programme, we encourage you to attend every session where possible. If you don’t feel comfortable in a face-to-face group setting, we offer our digital programme that offers flexibility to take part in the programme in a way you may be more comfortable with. For certain patient cohorts we offer a remote on line group programme. Please feel able to discuss at your discovery call the options available to you and what might work best for you.
The sessions are delivered by trained practitioners and involve presentations, videos, interactive tasks and lots of discussion. Key topics that we cover include an introduction to healthy eating, the importance of regular eating patterns, understanding more about carbohydrates, sugars, glycaemic index and their effects on blood sugar levels, snacking, fats, food labels, habits, sleep, recognising hunger and fullness and much more! We’re always happy to answer any questions you have.

The same applies for Digital – no switches can be made midway through the programme to a different mode of delivery, You would would need to be taken off your original programme and be restarted on the programme, in the way that works best for you. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to do this, please don’t hesitate to talk to your health coach at any stage – we’re always happy to help!
